Daniel Futcher is a Los Angeles-based composer known for his hand crafted approach to music making. Growing up Daniel had a guitar in his hand since he could remember thanks to his father. He played in many rock and metal bands; recording various records and playing countless shows around the country. Getting jaded from band life he fell in love with the beauty of film. Daniel began making short films and scoring them; completely falling in love with this new way of expression. He decided to change course and pursue film scoring where he received the North American Scholarship at Berklee College of Music. Daniel studied mandolin and film scoring in Boston and interned for Hans Zimmer and Henry Jackman in Los Angeles during the summers. Once he graduated he moved to LA full time and was brought on to assist and be mentored by Dominic Lewis. There he really learned the tools of the trade and was able to grow under Dominic's mentorship. After 8 years Daniel began branching out on his own to show the world his unique approach to the craft of film scoring. Utilizing his passion for sound, Daniel spends a lot of time creating curated instruments and recording techniques for each specific project. This handmade approach gives each project a unique sonic blueprint that could only exist in the world of that film. In collaboration with the director/showrunner they end up with a one of a kind sonic palette that is grounded in the emotional themes of the project; giving the audience an immersive experience. Daniel's work can be heard on Sony Netflix's "Thrash", Warner Brothers Animation's "My Adventures With Superman", Tribeca Film's "Lemonade Blessing", and many more.
